The San Fernando Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 87-38 defeat at the hands of Sylmar. San Fernando was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-21.
When it comes to explaining why San Fernando lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Reyes. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. Reyes also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Isaiah Cabrera was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Joseph Dickson was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with seven assists for Sylmar. Dickson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gustavo Lopez, who scored 16 points.
San Fernando's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Sylmar, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-7.
San Fernando will be playing at home against Panorama at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sylmar, they will head out on the road to face off against Kennedy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
