If the National Trail Blazers were riding high off their 39-10 takedown of the Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. National Trail took a serious blow against Arcanum on Thursday, falling 60-22. While losing is never fun, National Trail can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 610th, while Arcanum is ranked 207th).
Arcanum got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashlyn Miller out in front who scored 17 points along with four steals. Alexis Gibbons was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
National Trail now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Arcanum, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. National Trail will take on Bradford at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Bradford is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Arcanum, they will be playing at home against Versailles at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
