The Syracuse Bulldogs waltzed into their game Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They strolled past Wichita County with points to spare, taking the game 59-44. Syracuse's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Wichita County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Harbin, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cashton Young, who scored six points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Syracuse pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Wichita County, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Syracuse will head out on the road to face off against Elkhart at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Elkhart will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Syracuse is ranked 37th). Wichita County will be home for the holidays to greet St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Francis is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
