The Cooper Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the St. John's Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Cooper waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 62-45 win over St. Stephen's Episcopal.
Even though St. John's has not done well against Episcopal recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. St. John's walked away with a 71-58 win over Episcopal.
It was another big night for Sebastian Williams-adams, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Booker, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Cooper's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for St. John's, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.
Cooper came out on top in a nail-biter against St. John's in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, sneaking past 61-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cooper since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
