Last Friday, Cambridge Springs really took it to Cochranton for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-14 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Cambridge Springs, who have now won seven matchups by 33 points or more so far this season.
Jordan Washington was a one-man wrecking crew for Cambridge Springs as he rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Washington's longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards. Preston Gorton was in the mix as well, providing Cambridge Springs with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Mercer had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 28-20 victory over Lakeview.
Their wins bumped Cambridge Springs to 7-1 and Mercer to 5-3.
Cambridge Springs beat Mercer 21-14 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cambridge Springs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
