Baseball Recap: Harmony's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Harmony had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs. Considering the Longhorns have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Riley Bonini looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Samuel Castillo, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Westin Thompson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Harmony always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Dora Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .333.

Harmony pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harmony will host Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harmony's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Osceola's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East River at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
