It was a good run, but the South Central Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northeastern.
Despite the loss, South Central still got an impressive performance from Michael Bowens, who scored 16 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bowens has scored all season. Isaiah Godley was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Northeastern was led to victory by Sayvion Saunders and Tyell Saunders. Saunders scored 16 points, while Saunders scored 22 points.
South Central's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-1. As for Northeastern, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
South Central will face off against Wayne Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wayne Country Day is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Northeastern won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Camden County at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Camden County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.8 points per game.
