The Pike County Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 69-17 defeat at the hands of New Brockton. Pike County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-8.
Leading New Brockton to victory were Ariana Smith and Reese Eddins. Smith scored 18 points along with five assists and four steals, while Eddins scored 17 points along with three steals. Eddins' trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Casey Williams, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Pike County's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for New Brockton, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike County will take on Headland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Brockton, they will be playing at home against Northside Methodist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
