Mount Vernon has gone a perfect 4-0 against Lone Oak recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mount Vernon Tigers will welcome the Lone Oak Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lone Oak will be up against a hot Mount Vernon squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went Mount Vernon's way against Chisum on Thursday as Mount Vernon made off with a 19-2 win. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Samantha Edge made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Edge was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Olivia Baird was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cameron Pope, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles.

Mount Vernon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .652. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Lone Oak entered their tilt with Winnsboro on Friday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 7-1 victory.

Mount Vernon pushed their record up to 13-4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lone Oak, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Mount Vernon took their win against Lone Oak when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0. Will Mount Vernon repeat their success, or does Lone Oak have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
