There's no place like home for the Wilkes Central Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 54-11 win over West Iredell at home.
Wilkes Central can attribute much of their success to Anna Rollins, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Rollins has scored at least 25% of Wilkes Central's points. Taylor Munsey was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 10 rebounds.
The victory got Wilkes Central back to even at 1-1. As for West Iredell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilkes Central will take on Starmount at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Iredell, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Elkin at 6:30 p.m.
