Volleyball Recap: Galesburg Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Burlington, Galesburg was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Biggsville West Central Heat by a score of 2-0. For the Silver Streaks, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Heat walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

While Galesburg won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22.

Galesburg can attribute much of their success to Grace Herchenroder, who had nine digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave Herchenroder a new career-high.

The victory got Galesburg back to even at 1-1. As for Biggsville West Central, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Galesburg has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Canton on the 28th. As for Biggsville West Central, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on September 8.
