The Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees will take on the Weir Red Riders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Clay-Battelle didn't have quite enough to beat Cameron and fell 7-6. The Cee-Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kooper Statler was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Ryan Parker was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Corey Coen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Wheeling Park hit Weir with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Riders fell 10-6 to the Patriots. The loss continues a trend for the Red Riders in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost six in a row.
Jonathan Horstman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. Weir is 2-1 when Horstman posts two or more runs, but 8-15 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Teddy Glyptis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Clay-Battelle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Weir, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Clay-Battelle has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Weir struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Clay-Battelle might still be hurting after the 17-2 defeat they got from Weir in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Cee-Bees have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
