Warren has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The General McLane Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Warren fell victim to Meadville's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Bulldogs on the road and fell 53-0. While losing is never fun, Warren can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Meadville is ranked 225th).
Meanwhile, General McLane can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They breezed by Girard at home to the tune of 49-14. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead General McLane to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Zietz, who picked up 65 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Ian Salisbury was another key contributor, rushing for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
Warren's defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-2 General McLane and 6-3 Oil City (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.4% over those games). As for General McLane, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Warren might still be hurting after the 37-16 loss they got from General McLane in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Warren, Dylan Sheeder (who rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
