Baseball Recap: Greenway Wins Going Away Against Moon Valley

Greenway's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They blew past the Moon Valley Rockets 10-0. Considering the Demons have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Gumm made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trevor Myer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. He has become a key player for Greenway: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Chance Angelo-Diumenti was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Greenway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moon Valley only posted a batting average of .118.

Greenway now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Moon Valley, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Greenway will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rockets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
