The Currituck County Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Camden County 61-22 at home. That looming 61-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Currituck County yet this season.
Currituck County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arianna White, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which White has scored at least 25% of Currituck County's points. Savannah Banks was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Camden County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Faith Underwood. Despite the final result, she scored ten points. The contest was Underwood's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Camden County struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Currituck County racked up 14 assists.
Currituck County pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Camden County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Currituck County will face off against Manteo at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Manteo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Currituck County is ranked 154th). Camden County is on the road again on Monday and play against First Flight at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th. First Flight's defense has only allowed 25.5 points per game this season, so Camden County's offense will have their work cut out for Camden County.
