The Byron-Bergen Bees's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Byron-Bergen, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-45 loss to Wheatland-Chili.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Webber 88-33 at home. Notre Dame's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Notre Dame got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Fitzpatrick out in front who scored 18 points along with two steals. Makyell Walker was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists and three steals.
Byron-Bergen's loss ended a 11-game streak of away wins and brought them to 2-1. As for Notre Dame, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Byron-Bergen was able to grind out a solid victory over Notre Dame when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 62-51. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Notre Dame's Jordan Welker, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Byron-Bergen to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
