Legacy Charter will venture away from home to take on First Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Legacy Charter has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Legacy Charter is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Celebration on Thursday. They came up short against the Storm, falling 11-1.
Meanwhile, First Academy got the win against Meadowbrook Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 17-5. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 11 runs or more this season.
Mad Myers made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Myers was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ashlyn Neiford was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. Avery Keller was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
First Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for First Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Legacy Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Legacy Charter might still be hurting after the 20-9 loss they got from First Academy in their previous matchup back in February. Can Legacy Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
