District 10 Region 2 A recap Sept. 26, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Youngsville, who took down 394th ranked Youngsville, 20-14. Ethan Moody ran for 252 yards and caught one passes for one yards in the win.
Eisenhower was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to first in District 10 Region 2 A. Earlier in the week, the Knights defeated Mercyhurst Prep 26-25.
Nick Evanoff put up the best numbers through the air as the Lakers lost to Eisenhower. He finished with six completions for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Evanoff's favorite target this week was D'Ayrus Davis, who caught one pass for 28 yards.
Nick Pearson was the best wideout in the league this week as Cambridge Springs fell to Iroquois. Pearson tallied two receptions for 67 yards. Zach Stafford helped Cambridge Springs' passing attack out by catching three balls for 45 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Chad Eisenhooth of Cochranton is the league leader in passing yards this season with 578. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, James Penley's team's John Pascuzzi has rushed for 587 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nathan O'Brien. The Eisenhower star has 13 catches for 339 yards.
The top two teams in District 10 Region 2 A will face off this week when first place Eisenhower takes on second place Cochranton. Last week, the Knights topped Mercyhurst Prep, while the Cardinals bested Union City.
There should be lots of points scored when Eisenhower and Cochranton face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Knights comes in having scored 120 this season, while Nathan Liberty's team has scored 182. Eisenhower scored 26 points last week as it beat Matt Morgan's team.
The Knights moved up to 393 from 480 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Eisenhower was able to make the jump by beating the Lakers 26-25.
