After a string of three wins, the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost to Trinity Prep on the road by a decisive 55-40 margin. Cornerstone Charter Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Trinity Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2018.
Despite the defeat, Cornerstone Charter Academy saw an underclassman step up: Aalisha Jackson scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Janis, who scored six points.
Amanda Lang was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points for Trinity Prep. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Samantha Male, who scored nine points.
Cornerstone Charter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Trinity Prep, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Cornerstone Charter Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Osceola at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th. Osceola is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Trinity Prep won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Celebration at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Celebration is ranked 427th, while Trinity Prep is ranked 450th).
