For the second straight game, Rolling Meadows will face off against Hersey. The Mustangs will challenge the Huskies at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Rolling Meadows is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Rolling Meadows couldn't beat Hersey on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Mustangs fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 6-4. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

For Hersey's part, Lincoln Causero tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Causero has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Hersey let Chuck Meister and Wyatt Groberski run wild. Meister went 3-for-4 with one home run, while Groberski went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Groberski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charlie Arvanitis, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Hersey was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rolling Meadows only posted a batting average of .200.

Hersey is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3-1 record this season. As for Rolling Meadows, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rolling Meadows has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hersey struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
