The Dixon Dukes & Duchesses will take on the Fulton Steamers at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Dixon sitting on six straight victories and Fulton on four.
On Thursday, Dixon sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Newman Central Catholic.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Dixon got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 25-17.

Dixon relied on the efforts of Micki Worrell, who had 12 digs and two aces, and Presley Lappin, who had six digs and six assists. That's the most digs Lappin has posted since back in September.
They weren't the only good servers: Dixon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fulton posted their closest victory since September 16th on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past Morrison 2-1.
Fulton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-19.
Dixon's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Fulton, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's match: Dixon has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Fulton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
