The Patriot Warriors will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Poly Bears at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Patriot had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged Los Altos out 42-39. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Patriot's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Isaiah Miramontes, who rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and Josiah Felix, who rushed for 246 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Felix was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards.
Meanwhile, Poly had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 27-12 win over Esperanza.
The victory makes it two in a row for Patriot and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for Poly, they pushed their record up to 5-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
