The Cherry Creek Bruins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Mullen 71-48. The score was close at the half, but Cherry Creek pulled away in the second half with 44 points.
Cherry Creek can attribute much of their success to James Pearsall, who scored 14 points. Pearsall continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Miles DeBolt was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Cherry Creek now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Mullen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherry Creek will challenge Overland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Overland is ranked 35th, while Cherry Creek is ranked 31st). As for Mullen, they will head out on the road to take on Smoky Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Smoky Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 contests -- so hopefully Mullen likes a good challenge.
