The St. Charles East Fighting Saints will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the West Chicago Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th. Hopefully St. Charles East is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Chicago in Illinois (St. Charles East is ranked 48th, while West Chicago is ranked 219th).
Last Tuesday, St. Charles East came up short against Wheaton-Warrenville South and fell 46-39.
Lexi Diorio put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 14 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Schilb, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, West Chicago came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Elgin with points to spare, taking the game 58-44.
St. Charles East's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-12. As for West Chicago, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for St. Charles East against West Chicago when the teams last played back in January of 2015 as the squad secured a 57-22 victory. Does St. Charles East have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Chicago turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
