Howland is 0-10 against the Cardinals since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Howland Tigers will be playing at home against the Canfield Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Howland has not done well against the Spartans recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Howland escaped with a win against the Spartans by the margin of a single free throw, 34-33. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Howland has scored all year.
Howland had a senior duo take command as John Perry scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two steals and Alex Henry scored 11 points. Perry hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Fenton, who scored three points.
Meanwhile, Canfield had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against Harding by a score of 51-44.
Howland's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9. As for Canfield, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
