The North Sanpete Hawks were the 63-58 winner over the Juab Wasps when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. North Sanpete took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wasps on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, North Sanpete still got an impressive performance from Ridge Hendry, who scored 21 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Cook, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Juab's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Austin Park led the charge by scoring 15 points along with seven assists and two blocks. Park continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Braxton Hooper was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
North Sanpete has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Juab, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.
North Sanpete will be playing at home against the Rabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Delta is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Juab, they will head out on the road to face off against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
