After flying high against the Mountain Range Mustangs on Tuesday, the Fairview Knights came back down to earth. Fairview took a hard 58-41 fall against Poudre on Wednesday. Fairview has struggled against Poudre recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Remy Tolar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tolar has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Bella Chang was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Poudre's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaqueline Forrest, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Foster, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Fairview has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Poudre, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairview's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fossil Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. Fossil Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Poudre, Poudre and Boulder will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Boulder is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
