Foundation Christian Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Grace Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 6-5.
Raeghan Ramsey was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 7.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Ramsey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Makayla Howard was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Kiptynn Barron was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Even though they lost, Foundation Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Seffner Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Northside Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 10-9.
Seffner Christian got a massive performance out of Tenley Newman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Newman is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stole at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Isabella Biase, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.
Foundation Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Seffner Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Seffner Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Foundation Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. It's a different story for Seffner Christian, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Foundation Christian Academy's hitters?
Foundation Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 16-2 loss they got from Seffner Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Foundation Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
