After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Dominic, the Sacopee Valley Hawks were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They blew past Buckfield 67-45. That's another feather in the cap for Sacopee Valley, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Bryce Stacey was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. It was the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Tyler Easterbrooks, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Sacopee Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Buckfield, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacopee Valley will challenge Pine Tree Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Pine Tree Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Buckfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Rangeley Lakes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
