Baseball Recap: Browne Wins Going Away Against Dobson

Browne won the last time they faced Dobson and things went their way on Monday too. The Bruins put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 8-1 win. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Abraham Guzman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Athan Hernandez was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luis Beltran, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for Browne and bumps their season record up to 11-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Dobson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

As of now, neither Browne nor Dobson have any future games scheduled.
