Last Tuesday, Volcano Vista's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Cleveland with a 49-43 win.
Volcano Vista's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taejhuan "TT" Hill, who scored 21 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Faith Ortiz, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Cibola's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 15th straight loss. They took a 49-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Atrisco Heritage Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cibola in their matchups with Atrisco Heritage Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Volcano Vista is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Cibola, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Volcano Vista against Cibola when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-30 victory. With Volcano Vista ahead 37-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
