After losing to the Fort Ann Cardinals the last time they met, the Doane Stuart Thunder Chicken decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Doane Stuart walked away with a 66-54 win over Fort Ann on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Doane Stuart.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alejandro Stowhas, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stowhas has scored all season. Garrett Brown was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Fort Ann were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Doane Stuart's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Fort Ann, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Doane Stuart will take on Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Ann, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake George at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake George presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fort Ann in New York (Lake George is ranked 260th, while Fort Ann is ranked 758th).
