Softball Recap: Nelson Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Nelson won the last time they faced Clackamas and things went their way on Monday too. Nelson blew past Clackamas 18-8. The result was nothing new for Nelson, who have now won nine matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Abigail Huspek was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Addison Osterholm was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.

Nelson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Nelson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Clackamas, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nelson will face off against Gresham at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clackamas, they will venture away from home to square off against David Douglas at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavaliers are facing the Scots at the right time seeing as the Scots are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
