The Winfield Generals lost against the St. Albans Red Dragons back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Winfield took a 57-39 bruising from St. Albans. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Winfield in their matchups with St. Albans: they've now lost three in a row.
Winfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ashlee Johnson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Cole, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Winfield has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for St. Albans, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Winfield will be playing at home against Scott at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Scott focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday. As for St. Albans, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Albans is coming into the game with three straight victories on the road, so Parkersburg is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
