The Hobbton Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Clinton Dark Horses at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hobbton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Hobbton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lakewood, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Leopards on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Zannah Hairr was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Sinclair, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (three). Rubi Reyes also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Hobbton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakewood only managed three hits.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Clinton and Red Springs, and Clinton kept the tradition alive. The Dark Horses sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 win over the Red Devils on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Dark Horses as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Da'Niyah Coxum was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carmella Carlton, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
With the win, Hobbton broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-12. As for Clinton, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-9.
Hobbton might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Clinton in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
