Silas hasn't had much luck against Central Kitsap recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Silas is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Lincoln with a sharp 32-11 win on Wednesday. The Rams have beaten the Abes the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Abes has come to flipping the script.
Cailey Howell made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off six RBI, four runs, and four doubles while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Medalia, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lydia Casey, who went 3-for-7 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.
Silas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They are 6-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Central Kitsap hadn't done well against Gig Harbor recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Cougars blew past the Tides 13-3.
Olivia Keehn and Scarlett Mabe did most of the damage at the plate: Keehn went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs, while Mabe went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Bosh, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Silas' victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Central Kitsap, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Silas has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Central Kitsap struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Silas suffered a grim 25-1 defeat to Central Kitsap in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
