The Vista Grande Spartans will challenge the Poway Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Vista Grande will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
If Vista Grande beats Poway with 13 runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Vista Grande was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over North Canyon on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Eltorna Gant III made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Nicholas Valdez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ruben Baca, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5.
Vista Grande kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Poway might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Eastlake who claimed the real prize. Poway wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Poway also got a good showing from Aiden Molinari, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Molinari has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Trenton Uyeda was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Kieran Langdown also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Vista Grande's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Poway, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
