Baseball Recap: Deer Park's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Deer Park had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls by a score of 10-5 on Thursday. The Wildcats' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last nine games.

Karter Lipscomb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Deer Park got a massive performance out of Michael Goebel, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Goebel has posted since back in April of 2024. Kingston Fall was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-15. As for Mt. Healthy, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Deer Park will be taking part in a tournament against Riverview East Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mt. Healthy, they will head out to face off against Purcell Marian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
