Basketball Recap: Jordan Barnhart Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Eastlake

There's no place like home for Sage Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 65-45 margin over the Eastlake Titans on Thursday. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Titans are ranked 466th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sage Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Barnhart out in front who posted 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals Barnhart has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elijah Stephens, who had 15 points.

Sage Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Izzy Fejeran, who put up 11 points. Fejeran is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Anthony Reavis was another key player, putting up nine points.

Sage Creek's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Eastlake, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Sage Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-40 victory against Oceanside on the 15th. Eastlake has also already played their next match, an 87-48 loss against Montgomery on the 15th.
