Omaha Westside and Creighton Prep are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Omaha Westside Warriors' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Creighton Prep Junior Jays at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Omaha Westside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
Last Friday, Omaha Westside earned a 54-44 win over Millard West. The victory was just what Omaha Westside needed coming off of a 76-56 loss in their prior matchup.
Omaha Westside had a senior duo take command as Kevin Stubblefield scored 12 points along with two blocks and Caleb Benning scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Stubblefield posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Maddox Anderson, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Creighton Prep pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Pius X 63-58. Creighton Prep has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Omaha Westside is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Creighton Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
Omaha Westside beat Creighton Prep 52-45 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Omaha Westside repeat their success, or does Creighton Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
