Despite the loss, Victory Baptist Academy saw an underclassman step up: Landon Cormican scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Ethan Hunt was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Mercer Christian Academy was led to victory by Eli Patton and MJ Patton. Patton scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Patton dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten steals. Patton has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Sharp, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds.
Mercer Christian Academy's lineup was just a bit different on Monday as Elias Sharp got a bit more time on the court (18 vs. his season average of 7.88). Sharp made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Victory Baptist Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8. As for Mercer Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-10.
