It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Horizon Huskies had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They breezed by Canyon View at home to the tune of 77-21. Considering Horizon has won eight contests by more than 21 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Horizon was led to victory by Jase Ashley and Bodie Zamorano. Ashley threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, while Zamorano rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns. Zamorano is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Vincent Valentino was another key contributor, picking up 101 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The victory (which was Horizon's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.8 points per game. As for Canyon View, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Horizon has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Canyon View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
