Softball Game Preview: Colonel Richardson Colonels vs. Pocomoke Warriors

Colonel Richardson is a perfect 5-0 against Pocomoke since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Colonels will face off against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Colonel Richardson will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against St. Michaels on Wednesday. The Colonels were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Saints. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Pocomoke got the win against Snow Hill on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-2. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by ten runs or more this season.

Addyson Holland spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Kamryn Noble was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one triple. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Caroline Webster was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Pocomoke always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Pocomoke back to even at 3-3. As for Colonel Richardson, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Everything went Colonel Richardson's way against Pocomoke when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Colonel Richardson made off with a 17-0 victory. Will the Colonels repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
