Basketball Recap: Midland Classical Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kaleigh Sherrill and Mariah Davis

After flying high against Prince of Peace last Tuesday, Midland Classical Academy came back down to earth. The Midland Classical Academy Knights took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Country Christian Eagles on Saturday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 58-44.

Midland Classical Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Mariah Davis and Kaleigh Sherrill. Davis on her way to 16 points and six rebounds, while Sherrill dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. Davis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddie Valles, who posted five points.

Midland Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 30-4. As for Lake Country Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-11 record this season.

Midland Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Lubbock Christian will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Lake Country Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
