Natalia can  bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game  on Monday. They walked away with  a   6-3  win over the Dilley Wolves. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
 Natalia's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Leo Buentello, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most  runs  Buentello has posted since back in April of 2024.  Jordan Castro also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
Natalia's  win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 4-16. As for Dilley, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Natalia will  challenge  rival Hondo  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The timing isn't great for the Mustangs: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while the Owls have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Meanwhile, Dilley is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Cotulla  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
