If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Sayre. They are leaving OK behind and heading out of state to face off against Claude on Thursday at 7:00 PM. Sayre will be looking to build upon the 29-12 win they picked up against Claude the last time they played.
Sayre had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 14-42 walloping at Woodland's hands.
Meanwhile, Claude had to kick off their season on the road last week, but they showed no ill effects. They were fully in charge, breezing past Patton Springs 57-6.
Claude's win lifted them to 1-0 while Sayre's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Claude's success rolls on or if Sayre are able to steal their positive momentum.
