Even though the Saranac Lake Red Storm have not done well against the Northeastern Clinton Cougars recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Saranac Lake came out on top against Northeastern Clinton by a score of 58-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Saranac Lake.
It was another big night for Caleb Akey, who scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Mik Denkenberger was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Northeastern Clinton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jordan Brown, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Max Rabideau, who scored 12 points.
Saranac Lake pushed their record up to 6-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Northeastern Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Coincidentally, Saranac Lake and Northeastern Clinton will both be playing Saranac the next time they take the court. Northeastern Clinton will host Saranac at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Saranac Lake will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
