The Banning Pilots fell victim to the Carson Colts''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They fell 13-0 to the Colts. Banning was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carson apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Robert Guerrero threw for 114 yards on eight of 18 attempts. Steven Perez was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards.
Jerry Misaalefua got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
Banning's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Carson, San Pedro, and Palos Verdes. As for Carson, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Banning will take on Santee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Santee will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. Carson will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Granada Hills Charter at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th. Granada Hills Charter will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
