Schuylerville has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Taconic Hills Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Taconic Hills took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Schuylerville, who comes in off a win.
Schuylerville can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They really took it to Coxsackie-Athens for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-0 victory at home. Given Schuylerville's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Coxsackie-Athens is ranked 543rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Schuylerville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landen Cumm led the charge by rushing for 25 yards and two touchdowns. Luke Griffen made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Taconic Hills was the victim of a tough 38-15 loss at the hands of Johnstown last Friday.
Schuylerville's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Taconic Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Schuylerville against Taconic Hills in their previous meeting back in October of 2021 as the squad secured a 54-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Schuylerville since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
