The Flagler Panthers fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Arickaree Bison on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Bison 47-43. It was the first time this season that Flagler let down their fans at home.
Flagler lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lexi Witt, who scored eight points along with five steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Jaylie Stone, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Flagler's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for Arickaree, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Flagler will be playing in front of their home fans against Byers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Byers is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Arickaree, they will head out on the road to challenge Bethune at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bethune focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
